5 Acne Treatment Tips You Can Use Today by James Allen

Dealing with acne can be embarassing at any age. Luckily, there are
a number of things you can do everyday to make sure your skin is less
prone to flare ups. Here are five tips for taking control of your
acne starting today.

1. Exercise - Keeping in shape can help fight acne by fighting off
negative stress levels that can come from negative self-esteem and
depression. However, some safeguards need to be in place to ward off
acne that can result from your workout routines. Watch what you put
on your body with regards to clothing, sports gear and equipment.

For example, tight lycra and nylon exercise outfits might look
great in the movies and on magazine models, but if you are
susceptible to acne problems, avoid these synthetic fabrics that tend
to trap in body moisture and heat resulting in a bacteria frenzy.
Instead, choose loose clothing made of cotton or natural blends to
allow more air to get to your skin.

And when you are finished with your workout, get out of clothing wet
from perspiration or water sports. Shower and change into dry, clean
clothing. And keep your sports gear and equipment clean, too. Dirty
headgear, for instance, can irritate forehead areas prone to acne
problems. So toss headbands into the washing machine after workout
sessions.

2. Cosmetics - To avoid pore-clogging and skin irritations that are
similar to acne and that can contribute to acne, use products labeled
noncomedogenic or oil-free. Shimmering facial colors can contain a
flaky mineral called mica that can cause skin irritations and clog
pores. Other additives in coloring that can cause similar reactions
are coal tar derivatives, carmine and heavy cream in blushes.

More preventative measures include using a lip gloss that promotes a
matte finish instead of a high gloss for less pore-clogging; note the
more the shine, the more then comedogenic content and the more the
pores can clog. Beware that eye creams can contain heavier
concentrations of moisturizers than regular creams and lotions,
meaning they have greater potential to clog pores in the surrounding
facial areas.

3. Diet - Studies show that diet does not play a role in either the
cause or the treatment of acne. However, what is recommended for acne
preventative care is this: what is best for your body is best for
your skin, especially since your skin is the largest organ of your
body. So remember to watch your diet and consume healthy vitamins,
minerals and other supplements. This will help to prevent and help
conquer acne breakout.

4. Hygiene - A healthy skin regimen should include no harsh
scrubbing or over-washing, because this can cause possible skin
irritation or possible over production of oil to replace what has
washed off, clogging pores in the process. Products with gentle
exfoliation ingredients are OK to use; i.e. not scratchy nut or fruit
shell pieces that can tear skin. And skip alcohol products when
possible; these can take off the top layer of your skin and cause
your glands to product more oil, clogging pores in the process.

If you do spot acne-troubled areas, do NOT mess with them. Remember
that these are already weeks in the making, and squeezing or picking
blemishes can force the infected area to regress back inside, further
troubling the region and possibly leave a scar. If necessary, seek
help from a dermatologist for alternative treatments.

5. Shaving - Shaving for both genders is actually an excellent way
of exfoliating or removing dead skin to help with the prevention and
spreading of acne instead of leaving the remains to clog pores. And
for some light acne cases already in process, shaving can help rid
whiteheads and blackheads from the face. A word of caution: for areas
with infection or high inflammatory activity (redness, sensitive,
open acne, sores, etc.), do not shave. Or at the very least, use a
shaving cream for sensitive skin!

I AM SORRY

It has been about 2 weeks since i last wrote, well i am sorry but i assure you that i have a good reason. I was reading, trying to prepare for an interview where i would be asked professional questions. I was trying to brush up on my knowledge.

Anyway i have been finally inducted as a pharmacist. After so many years the day finally arrived and it felt so unreal (it still does). The plans that i made went out of control, it didn't go according to my plans. So many things that i won't have imagined happened. It started with my suit, it was not the one i would have loved to wear but i had to make do with it because i didn't see anyone that was my size (i am incredibly tiny). Then the car/van that my uncle was to use to bring my grandmother overheated and she couldn't get to the venue on time.

As if that was not enough as we were going home at around 8 p.m, we had 2 burst tyres when we were on the expressway.

That day is one that i won't forget for anything. Anyway i am grateful to God for my life and that of my mum and the driver.

I have to go now because i have another interview. I have to find a job as fast as i can. I will try to write this week. Hope i really do.

See you soon.
Remain beautifully blessed.

4 GREAT HOMEMADE REMEDIES THAT HELP GET RID OF ACNE

So you have acne and want to get rid of it? Let me ask you a question: do you what acne is? I know most people would say acne is that annoying and embarrassing skin condition that seems to appear at the oddest of times.

Well, you would be right in saying so but medically ‘acne is a skin condition (or disease if you want to call it that but technically it is not a disease) that results from the combined action of hormones and other substances present in the skin’s oil glands and hair follicles’. This leads to clogged pores which results in swellings thereby causing a person to breakout in acne lesions. Acne can sometimes be caused by bacteria. You may know acne as zit or pimples. It can be found on the face, neck chest, shoulders and back (known as bacne).

There are various masks that can be made from natural ingredients and that can be found in one’s kitchen (or can be bought in the grocery stores). These masks help improve your skin and thereby help prevent acne. Here are 4 of them that work wonders against acne and is trusted by a lot of acne sufferers (myself inclusive).

1. Honey mask: This is so easy to do. Just spread some honey on your face and leave it on for 30 minutes. Then wash off with lukewarm water. Don’t you love honey, it is good for your system and good for your skin.

2. Lemon juice: Lemon is a member of the citrus family and it contains a natural astringent that makes our skin look healthy and glowing by working with our skins natural oils. You can apply lemon juice on your face alone or mix it with green clay to form a paste and apply on your face. Rinse with lukewarm water after 20 minutes. You can also freshly squeezed orange juice if you can’t lay your hand on lemon juice.

3. Egg White Mask: This is great in preventing acne scars. To prepare this, simply crack an egg slightly at the top/end and keep the white in a cup. Beat the white with a fork until it is frothy, then apply it on your face with a small wad/ball of cotton wool or tissue (though cotton wool is far better) and allow to dry for about 15 minutes. Then wash off with water. You can add a little amount of lemon juice to the mask if you like.

4. Green Clay: I know what you might be thinking. GREEN CLAY? What is Green clay? It is a naturally mined clay that is actually more of gray in color with a hint of green. It contains natural ingredients that draw impurities from the skin and clears up acne. Intrigued? I am sure that the question you would be asking now is: where can I get it? Well, it can be found in health food stores or beauty supply stores. You can apply it on your skin as a paste made with it and a little amount of water or with lemon juice. Then wash off with water.

Well hope you are intrigued and start using any one of these homemade masks and join millions of people who have gotten rid of their acne. Something that you should note is that for these masks to work, you have to use natural ingredients (especially with the honey and lemon/orange juice. Use lemon / orange juices that you squeeze yourself). Natural ingredients make sure your skin heals well and gives it a fresh glow.

Well, that is 4 masks that you can try though there are many more that you can use. You can use these masks with some other acne treatments. Acne treatments that I use and recommend to people (who later thank me) include:

1.Revitol® Acne moisturizing Crème and Revitol® Acnezine Skin Antioxidant Capsules: Treats acne from outside and inside. Check out http://www.revitol.com/product/overview/Acnezine_Acne_Solution/?aid=490509

2. Murad Acne complex®: A complete system that does not contain benzoyl peroxide (for people who cannot stand benzoyl peroxide). Check out Acne Complex

3. For people who have got massive reminders that they once had acne like me (I am talking about spots), check out Revitol® Spot gel http://www.revitol.com/acne-spot-gel/?aid=490509 . It helps you get rid of spots and blemishes.

You can try any one (though I am partial to Revitol® Acnezine because of their free one month supply).

P.S: Did you like the dress that Michelle Obama wore on the Inauguration day? Personally I didn’t like the colour of the dress but the fitting on her was great. I Loved Jill Biden’s boots. And Obama kid’s gears were hot. Leave your comments on what you think about all what they wore including Obama. Love to hear from you.

HOW I AM COPING WITH MY ACNE

Hey you guys, i am in a kinda happy and sad mood. I am happy because i am finally going to be inducted as a pharmacist and sad because i have reminders of my nasty habit of picking my acne on my face (i.e spots/scars). I know now that my acne will clear after some days and when i use my acne treatment regularly but my major problem is the spots.

I really would love my face to be clear and smooth. Maybe i will use a whole lot of concealer on that day (thank God i am a girl and like make-up). Oh by the way, the date is 27th of january, 7 days after Obama would have been inaugurated (by God's Grace.

I really have to be consistent in using my spot removal gel even though i don't see how my spots would magically go away in about 10 days but a girl can dream. Can't she?

Oh well for those of you who don't know what acne treatment to use, let me recommend 3 hot products that you would love. They are :

It helps get rid of spots and blemishes.

Hope you try anyone of them (though i am partial to Revitol products because of their freebies). Gotta run, have a whole lot of body pampering to do so that i can look my best on my induction day.

See ya next week. Remain beautifully blessed.

P.S: I want to Thank God for the lives of those who were on the plane that crashed in the river in New york and were saved. What a way to usher in a new administration with Obama has the head. Americans, here is wishing you a nice inauguration.
