4 GREAT HOMEMADE REMEDIES THAT HELP GET RID OF ACNE

So you have acne and want to get rid of it? Let me ask you a question: do you what acne is? I know most people would say acne is that annoying and embarrassing skin condition that seems to appear at the oddest of times.

Well, you would be right in saying so but medically ‘acne is a skin condition (or disease if you want to call it that but technically it is not a disease) that results from the combined action of hormones and other substances present in the skin’s oil glands and hair follicles’. This leads to clogged pores which results in swellings thereby causing a person to breakout in acne lesions. Acne can sometimes be caused by bacteria. You may know acne as zit or pimples. It can be found on the face, neck chest, shoulders and back (known as bacne).

There are various masks that can be made from natural ingredients and that can be found in one’s kitchen (or can be bought in the grocery stores). These masks help improve your skin and thereby help prevent acne. Here are 4 of them that work wonders against acne and is trusted by a lot of acne sufferers (myself inclusive).

1. Honey mask: This is so easy to do. Just spread some honey on your face and leave it on for 30 minutes. Then wash off with lukewarm water. Don’t you love honey, it is good for your system and good for your skin.

2. Lemon juice: Lemon is a member of the citrus family and it contains a natural astringent that makes our skin look healthy and glowing by working with our skins natural oils. You can apply lemon juice on your face alone or mix it with green clay to form a paste and apply on your face. Rinse with lukewarm water after 20 minutes. You can also freshly squeezed orange juice if you can’t lay your hand on lemon juice.

3. Egg White Mask: This is great in preventing acne scars. To prepare this, simply crack an egg slightly at the top/end and keep the white in a cup. Beat the white with a fork until it is frothy, then apply it on your face with a small wad/ball of cotton wool or tissue (though cotton wool is far better) and allow to dry for about 15 minutes. Then wash off with water. You can add a little amount of lemon juice to the mask if you like.

4. Green Clay: I know what you might be thinking. GREEN CLAY? What is Green clay? It is a naturally mined clay that is actually more of gray in color with a hint of green. It contains natural ingredients that draw impurities from the skin and clears up acne. Intrigued? I am sure that the question you would be asking now is: where can I get it? Well, it can be found in health food stores or beauty supply stores. You can apply it on your skin as a paste made with it and a little amount of water or with lemon juice. Then wash off with water.

Well hope you are intrigued and start using any one of these homemade masks and join millions of people who have gotten rid of their acne. Something that you should note is that for these masks to work, you have to use natural ingredients (especially with the honey and lemon/orange juice. Use lemon / orange juices that you squeeze yourself). Natural ingredients make sure your skin heals well and gives it a fresh glow.

Well, that is 4 masks that you can try though there are many more that you can use. You can use these masks with some other acne treatments. Acne treatments that I use and recommend to people (who later thank me) include:

1.Revitol® Acne moisturizing Crème and Revitol® Acnezine Skin Antioxidant Capsules: Treats acne from outside and inside. Check out http://www.revitol.com/product/overview/Acnezine_Acne_Solution/?aid=490509

2. Murad Acne complex®: A complete system that does not contain benzoyl peroxide (for people who cannot stand benzoyl peroxide). Check out Acne Complex

3. For people who have got massive reminders that they once had acne like me (I am talking about spots), check out Revitol® Spot gel http://www.revitol.com/acne-spot-gel/?aid=490509 . It helps you get rid of spots and blemishes.

You can try any one (though I am partial to Revitol® Acnezine because of their free one month supply).

P.S: Did you like the dress that Michelle Obama wore on the Inauguration day? Personally I didn’t like the colour of the dress but the fitting on her was great. I Loved Jill Biden’s boots. And Obama kid’s gears were hot. Leave your comments on what you think about all what they wore including Obama. Love to hear from you.
